How do I find book reviews on the reference shelves

Book Review Digest, from H.W. Wilson, arranges books by author, provides very brief summaries of the books, and includes parts of reviews. Subject and title arrangements appear as well. Dowling has volumes for 1940 - 2005. To find full-text of the review, look up the journal in which it appears in the Journal Locator. (Remember, you can request an interlibrary loan for any article Dowling cannot access in full-text.)

For this index, look not only in the year of publication, but the following year as well, in case your book came out late in its year.

Books of the Century from the New York Times is a collection of essays and reviews of some of the most influential books of the 20th century. The table of contents and index make this single-volume reference user friendly. Over 250 original New York Times reviews appear.
