Provides a comprehensive introduction to the field of sociology. Authorities discuss issues, theory, research findings on many topics (i.e., feminist theory, homelessness, crime and more).

A comprehensive source of information for nonspecialists with an interest in substance use and abuse.  Articles, written by specialists in their fields, cover such diverse topics as social policy, history, politics, economics, law enforcement, trafficking, scientific research, and treatment.  Volume 4 provides a directories of "US and State Government Drug Resources," "State-by-State Directory of Drug Abuse and Alcoholism Treatment and Prevention Programs," "Bureau of Justice Statistics," and "Illicit Substances and Drugs of Abuse."
