Covers a great deal of the physical structures built by the ancient Egyptians, from the Great Pyramids to more practical examples such as vault ceilings. With a multitude of diagrams, plans, and photographs of structures.

Baines, J.  (1980).  Atlas of Ancient Egypt. New York: Facts on File.
Covers the most significant sites (monuments, tombs, temples) of ancient Egypt with historical and physical descriptions along with color photographs. Invaluable for the many detailed maps showing geographic context of the area. Arranged in three parts, part two lists sites geographically along the Nile, so it helps to know where a site is located beforehand (Abu Simbel, for example, is listed under Nubia).

Bard, K. A.  (ed.).  (1999).  Encyclopedia of the Archeology of Ancient Egypt.  New York:Routledge.
The Encyclopedia begins with "overview" essays arranged by time period, followed by the main entries. This work focuses more on the physical sites, how they were excavated, famous Egyptologists and their methods, etc. It does, however, also include discussion of cultural and social aspects of ancient Egypt

Arranged by type of clothing (loincloth, apron, kilt, etc.), this book describes the range of clothes worn by everyday Egyptians. Includes tomb drawings to illustrate each article. There is also much discussion of the scholarship involved in the study of Egyptian clothing, with photographs at the end of the book documenting what has been found in excavations.

Comprehensive guide to Egyptian gods in all their forms, their iconography, and their worship. This guide lists the gods by type - male, female, reptile, etc. Start on p. 70 for an index of gods by name. Also includes numerous and striking color photographs, a chronology of Egyptian rulers, and a map of the Nile with important sites marked.
