LI-NYSIgN receives Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grant

The Long Island Chapter of the New York State Intergenerational Network is pleased to announce that it has received an Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grant to support our English as a Second Language and citizenship preparation program, which provides services in Suffolk and Nassau Counties. Congratulations to Maria Studer, LI-NYSIgN Board Member and program coordinator, for organizing the program.  Kevin Brabazon, President of NYSIgN, has announced that NYSIgN will match the Allstate grant which will be used for materials to support our volunteers.  The volunteers are Dowling students as well as members of the community.   Dr. Susanne Bleiberg Seperson is the Chair of the Long Island chapter of NYSIgN as well as the Sociology Department at Dowling College.  Training sessions and board meetings are held at the College.  Training sessions are typically held at the beginning of each semester and are open to all students and members of the community.  For more information, please contact her at
