Kimberly Poppiti has a Ph.D. (in Educational Theatre) from New York University, and an M.F.A. (in Dramaturgy) from Stony Brook University.  She has published articles on various topics, including, hippodrama, educational theatre, technical theatre, and representations of gender in theatre.  In 2007 she won a Greggs Merit Award for her article, Galloping Horses; in 2013, she won the Herbert D. Greggs Award for her article, War Horse.  She is also an award-winning playwright and the director of numerous musical and dramatic plays.  Professor Poppiti enjoys teaching a wide variety of classes and advising student groups, including the Drama Club and the Dowling Chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
