Housing

If you are interested in residing at Dowling College Residence Halls you must reserve your space by completing a "College Student Residence Application" as soon as possible and sending it, along with a $500 dorm and tuition deposit, to the following address:

Director, Residence Life Office
Dowling College
1300 William Floyd Parkway
Shirley, NY 11967

You should not assume that a room is reserved for you unless you have received confirmation of the reservation. Your application cannot be processed without the $500 deposit. Do not delay, space is limited.

You should plan to arrive about 3-5 days before the start date of the semester. If you arrive earlier you can stay at a nearby motel or, if space is available, at the Oakdale or Brookhaven Residence Halls.

Each apartment is furnished and has a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and common area, but all necessary supplies such as dishes, cooking and eating utensils, blankets, pillows, bed linen, towels and other items must be provided by the student.

There is a mandatory meal plan which will be provided for you if you choose to live in a dormitory.  You may also purchase an expanded meal plan if the minimum food plan is not sufficient.

If you would like to stay at the dorms for a few days only, or if you have any questions about accommodations, please contact Residence Life at 631-630-6000.

Off Campus Housing
There are many apartments in the areas surrounding Dowling’s campuses, which range from $2,400 to $3,300 per semester (approximately $800 - $1,100 per month), depending on the size, quality and number of bedrooms. Be prepared to leave the first and last month’s rent along with a security deposit. Students are responsible for locating their own off-campus apartment.
