Guest Lecturer: “The Untold Story of the Kennedy Assassination”

Dowling Library Common Area, April 13th at 2:30 p.m.

On November 23, 1963 history was changed forever as President Kennedy was killed on a visit to Dallas, Texas. A comprehensive investigation was undertaken by the United States Government to ascertain the true story of the assassination. From its initial release, The Warren Commission finding that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin of President Kennedy has been challenged. The controversy has been so great over the years that the House of Representatives reinvestigated the assassination in 1976 and years after the killing, the body of the assassin was reexamined to determine if it really was Lee Harvey Oswald. This seminar will present startling information about the assassination, the investigation and the implications behind what may have truly happened.

Bio: Dr. Richard Shear is the Interim Principal of Connetquot High School. He is a national presenter and trainer on educational issues and reform. Dr. Shear has presented at multiple universities including Columbia, Fordham and Penn State and has been a featured presenter at the annual New York State School Boards Conference as well as the National Conference of ASCD. He has authored a number of books and articles including the Rowman and Littlefield publication, Screwed-Up School Reform: Fixing America’s Broken Promise. Dr. Shear is an award winning educator who has been recognized as the Nassau County Teacher of the Year. He earned his Ed.D. in education from Fordham University.
