New York State Volunteer Recruitment Service Scholarship

Eligible students can receive scholarships equal to the annual tuition at a SUNY four year college.

Eligibility. Applicants must be volunteer firefighters or ambulance personnel who (1) are New York State residents, (2) enrolled at least half time as a matriculated student, (3) maintain status as an active volunteer firefighter or ambulance personnel.

Application. The applicant's volunteer organization selects and submits the application for one eligible candidate per year to HESC by August 1 of the award year. In addition, the applicant must complete the FAFSA and Express TAP application. Additional application and eligibility criteria can be found at www.hesc.com.
