On Saturday, Nov. 15, Dowling’s campus welcomed 105 prospective students, made up of doctoral, transfer and freshmen, for the Fall Open House — an exceedingly higher turnout than that of the previous fall’s event.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., potential students and their families were busy taking campus tours, watching admissions and financial aid presentations, sitting in on specific academic workshops, enjoying a complimentary lunch and experiencing what Dowling student life is like. Visitors interested in the aviation program were also given the opportunity to take the shuttle to the Brookhaven campus and visit the facilities there.
Prospective students were able to interact with current students through the Ask a Student Panel segment, student athletes, alumni and the department chairs of all of Dowling’s academic programs. They were also given the opportunity to portray their Dowling experience and win giveaways through the Open House Instagram Scavenger Hunt.
The enthusiasm from the potential students and their guests, and from all the Dowling faculty and staff who contributed made the Fall Open House a successful one.
