Publications
In May 2003 I received my Ph.D. from New York University where I wrote my
doctoral thesis entitled, "Pure Air and Fire: Horses and Dramatic Representations
of horses on the American Theatrical Stage."
Prior to that, I wrote 2 award-winning stage plays that
were produced at various locations throughout New York State. I also
hosted and produced the cable access television show "Password Pistachio."
I have written numerous articles on equestrian themes that have been
published in "Horse People" magazine, including an article on
intercollegiate riding at Dowling. I recently published an article on the
potential uses and benefits of Equine Assisted Therapy in the treatment of
depression entitled, "Horse Therapy and Depression" which appeared in the July
2005 issue of Natural Horse Magazine."

I presented a paper on 19th century
theatrical treadmill/panorama stage machinery at the 2003 Humanities and
Technologies conference hosted by Dowling College. I also chaired a panel on "Symbolic uses of communication"
and presented a related paper at the 2004 New York State Communications Association conference.

I have served on various committees at Dowling over the years. Currently I am

Club Affiliations
I am advisor of the DRAMA CLUB at Dowling. In the spring of 2005, we produced
"The Fantasticks" and I will direct ÒGodspellÓ this spring.
I am also a "ni-dan" (a second-degree black belt) and advise the Dowling
Karate Club, which is on a temporary hiatus but should be back in action soon!
Special Interests and/or Hobbies
Horses, tennis, yoga, and karate.
