Dr. Deming and Dr. Mauro, 2 friends, shaking hands at NYU Stern's Graduate School of Business where Dr. Mauro studied "Deming's quality methods." It was here that the 2 "Docs" became friends and it was from this friendship that Dr. Deming came to Dowling College on May 10, 1990.

At the invitation of his colleague and friend, Dr. Deming, spends the day at Dowling College on May 10,1990 lecturing, answering questions and autographing his famous book, "Out of the Crisis." Here he shakes hands with graduate student, Susan Thompson, after autographing her book while her teacher, Dr. Mauro, looks on.

On any given Monday, Dr. Deming could be found teaching at NYU's Graduate School of Business. On this particular Monday, Dr. Mauro is joined by (left to right) Joe Labas, MBA Dowling Graduate Student and Symbol Technologies' manufacturing quality engineer; Glenn Mazzella, President/CEO of Glenn Marine Family Boating, friend and colleague of Dr. Mauro; Dr. Deming, and Rafael Aguayo, author, quality consultant and good friend.
