Have coupled over twenty years of corporate management experience with the most recent ten years of academic experience as a Professor of Management and Leadership. Currently serve as the President of the Northeast Business and Economics Association. Demonstrated ability to manage process improvement initiatives; particular expertise in training and developing people and organizations to reach full potential. Strong communication and human relations skills and problem solving abilities. Experienced operations manager. Diverse managerial experience in the areas of operations, marketing, corporate training and residual markets. Publications cover areas such as Management, Workplace Trust, Business Graduate Education, Undergraduate General Education, Entrepreneurship, Managers′ Information-seeking Behaviors, and Change Management. Maureen brings over twenty years of management experience in the areas of operations,
training, TQM, marketing, and insurance residual markets, to her academic role. Prior to
joining Dowling College Maureen held the position of Regional Marketing Manager for Allstate
Insurance Company′s New York regional office. Maureen earned her Ph.D. at Long Island
University and her areas of study are information and management behavior. The title of her
doctoral dissertation is: The Accumulation of Information by Line Managers within a Business
Environment and the Resulting Cognitive Savings Account. Maureen earned her M.B.A. from
Dowling College with a concentration in Total Quality Management. Maureen has been honored
with the Dowling College Pride Award. She was also honored by the Oakdale Dorm Council as the
honoree for Women′s History Month. She is a winner of the A.R. Zipf Fellowship in Information
Management. The Human Resource Certification Institute awarded Maureen the PHR certification
in Human Resource Management.
Maureen′s publications cover areas such as Management, Human Resource Management, Trust in the
Workplace, Business Graduate Education, Undergraduate General Education, Entrepreneurship,
Managers′ Information-seeking Behaviors, Change Management, and more. Her research has been
published in journals such as: The International Journal of Information Management, The
Journal of Business and Economic Studies, The Journal of Education and Library Science, and
more. Her recent book, titled Emerging Business Theories for Educators and Practitioners,
provides an excellent starting point for students to gain a greater appreciation of the range
of issues that managers content with in the business world.
Maureen currently serves as the President of the Northeast Business and Economics Association
(NBEA). The NBEA was founded in 1973. The purposes of the association are (a) to promote
multidisciplinary research pertaining to business and economics; and (b) to improve
communications and to encourage the exchange of research, both applied and theoretical, among
all interested parties.
