Dowling College’s Pre-Law Society Discusses Immigration Policies

On April 18th, the Dowling College’s Pre-Law society invited members of the Islamic and Latino community to join us for a discussion about the current Immigration Policies within the United States. The forum was able to provide a platform for people of various races, religions and ethnic backgrounds to weigh in on this very important topic. Despite the controversial nature of this very heated topic, the participants in the forum were able to focus on their shared similarities, and not be divided by differing political views. While no ground breaking solutions to the problems our society faces were discovered, the forum reminded the participants that almost all of us have an immigration story, and all of us have something to offer to our communities.
