The Humanitarian Club's sole purpose is to bring a club to the Student Government which deals with volunteering and community service. Just like the community offers us so many things, it's our duty to give back. Whether it's fundraising for local charities, volunteering our time or simply just outreaching to the community.
Goals for the upcoming Academic year:
Bring people of the college together to give back to the community.
Show that the college is active in the community and trying to give back.
The club hopes that "By working together, that we can make a significant impact in the lives of those we help."
The Humanitarian Club participated in Light the Night in October at Eisenhower Park. Survivors carried a white balloon while supporters carried red balloons. There was also a clown on stilts walking around who happened to be a Dowling Alumni so we asked him to take a picture with us. Everyone had a wonderful time and we were able to raise over $1000 for the Leukemia and Lymohoma Society.
