Michael Eades work has always been influenced by what he encounters in his daily life, including what he sees in museums, books, travel, and now the web. His paintings re-compose forms taken from religious and non-religious art, both Eastern and Western that span all art historical periods. Eventually his life experiences culminate in prolifically painted naturalistic landscapes. Working intuitively, Eade transforms these encyclopedic references into new works, which for him resonate with symbolic feelings. He aims at facilitating a similar reaction to those viewing his work. Michaels current landscape paintings are intended to invite viewers to embark on visual tours of an unknown yet familiar-looking world aimed at becoming a part of their own cultural and emotional consciousness. Eades paintings are inviting landscapes that evoke some super-real realm between fantasy, reality and memory and it is his goal that they resonate personally with each viewer.
