Join us for our annual conference, Generations Moving Forward Together: Using Music, Language, Finance and Humor to Bridge the Gap on Friday, February 17, 2012 @ Dowling College, Oakdale campus, Fortunoff Hall Ballroom, 8:30am-1:45pm!
A brief summary of conference events:
Music: Dan Cohen, Executive Director of Music & Memory, a nonprofit organization which promotes the use of iPod-based personalized music to improve the quality of life of those with Alzheimers, will demonstrate how it's done!
Language: Maria Studer, coordinator of the Center's ESL/Citizenship Tutoring Task Force connects student volunteers with immigrant elders to help them learn English and prepare for the U.S. Citizenship test. If you want to be a tutor or need tutors to help your organization, check this out!
Finance: Henry Montag and Ronald Roel, of Financial Forums, Inc. will share their views on Fiscal Literacy for Grandparents, Parents and their Kids, which is a multigenerational approach to teaching financial literacy to young adults and why it's important for everyone!
Humor: Beth Hagedorn, of L.E.A.P. Unlimited will teach us about the Stress-Reducing Benefits of Humor and Laughter to help us with the ever increasing challenges of daily life! Is there anyone out there who wouldn't benefit from learning how to deal with stress?
Cost: $40.00 includes registration, continental breakfast, and lunch. Student fee: $20.00
Early registration before January 15, 2012 cost: $35.00.
