WALLACE NAMED ECC PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Central Islip, NY- Taras Wallace (Barnaget, NJ), along with C.W. Post’s Samantha Yodowitz were named Co-Players of the Year as voted on by the coaches if the ECC. Joining Wallace on the First Team is Jackie Hannan (Sayville, NY) and garnishing Third Team honors are Keri Boystak (Lindenhurst, NY) and Kristina DeMeo (Bay Shore, NY).
The two time recipient, Wallace, earned this honor finishing the season leading the conference in 6 offensive categories batting average (.470), on base percentage (.620), slugging percentage (.750), doubles (26), total bases (99), and walks (53). She also finished second in RBIs to teammate Hannan with 44, third in stolen bases (24), and total hits (62). Hannan earned her spot by leading the ECC in RBIs (47) along with placing in the top 5 for homeruns (8), total bases (92), and walks (22).
Boystak and DeMeo round out the selections each picking up their second straight Third Team honor. The junior center fielder, hit .336 on the season with 9 doubles, 6 homeruns, and 29 RBIs. DeMeo, a sophomore, went .353 on the season blasting 48 hits, 2 homeruns, 14 doubles, and 33 RBIs.
