Second Alumni Association Food and Wine Connoisseur Event
On April 17, 2007, Peter Lessing, CEC, Culinary Director of Lessing’s Inc., which owns and operates over 20 restaurants, country clubs and catering facilities throughout Long Island, will be hosting a one-night food and wine tasting at Dowling College. The theme for the event will be “French wine and cuisine,” showcasing a variety of wines and culinary delights.
A Certified Executive Chef, certified in 2005 through the American Culinary Federation – which bestowed Peter with the prestigious “Chef of the Year Award” in January 2007 and the “Chef Professionalism Award” in January 2006. Peter has received numerous awards recognizing his culinary talents. In 2005, he received a Bronze Medal at the J. Kings Chefs Cook Off, and was also honored with an award from the Executive Leadership Council in both 2004 and 2005. Most recently, Peter was named one of the top 40 businessmen under the age of 40 by the Long Island Business News.
The tasting event, which is open to Dowling alumni and friends, will take place on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 6:30pm in the Hunt Room in Fortunoff Hall on the Oakdale Campus. Registration for the event is $50 per person and all guests must pre-register by calling Susan Cummings at 631-244-5090. Please note that all participants must be over the age of 21 years old. Space is limited.
