"What the Butler Saw" is directed by London-born Stephen Wisker, a specialist in British farce, Shakespeare & clowning, who previously directed two smash hits at the Loft; 12th Night and Dario Fo's Can't Pay! Won't Pay! According to Artistic Director of the Loft, Dr. Andrew Karp, "Orton's play is simply one of the smartest and most outrageous farces every written for the stage. Every line is a zinger and, by the end of the play, no sacred cows remain unmilked!" The Loft Theatre, a non-profit theatre company, has dedicated itself to presenting classic, thought-provoking, ensemble-based works that both entertain and educate, utilizing the intimacy of the Loft space to expand the relationship between audience, actors, and material. In every instance, the Loft has tried to produce entertaining plays of both academic and literary excellence.
