With the help of Dowling College and the Suffolk County Department of Health, you CAN quit smoking. Quitting smoking has immediate as well as long-term benefits for you and your loved ones. Using proven cessation treatments, such as group counseling, can double your chance of success. Learn to be tobacco free with this helpful smoking cessation program that is free and open to the public.
- Learn strategies and receive support to stop smoking
- Learn skills to stay tobacco-free
- Free private consultation for evaluation by a nurse practitioner for medicine to help you quit
- Earn a certificate for completion
The classes are free of charge to Suffolk County residents and are conducted by Public Health Educators. The program runs for six consecutive weeks, one hour per week. Classes will be held on the Oakdale Campus in the Kramer Science Center every Thursday evening at 6:00 pm starting May 22nd and ending June 26th. A reunion class will be held on July 17th.
