Non-matriculated Status: A student shall be considered non-matriculated if that student does not satisfy any of the following requirements for matriculated status:
- The student has filed a written application for enrollment for the purpose of earning a degree or certificate in one of the College's registered degree curricula.
- The College, having taken into account the capacity of the student to undertake a course of study and its own capacity to provide what instructional and
other support the student needs to complete the program, accepts the student's application.
- The College, in accepting the student, recognizes that student as a candidate for a degree or certificate.
Non-matriculation would include a student who is enrolled for courses solely to complete teacher certification, licensing or other external requirements, or solely for personal or
cultural advancement and who is not recognized as a candidate for a degree. There is no limit on the number of courses for which a non-matriculated student may enroll.
A non-matriculated student may apply for matriculated status and may, in doing so, petition the Academic Standards Committee for authorization to have up to 18 of the credits
earned as a non-matriculated student applied toward the satisfaction of the requirements for his/her degree. In no instance however, will a student be permitted to apply more than
18 credits earned as a non-matriculated student toward a degree. A course in which the student enrolled as an auditor will not, in any event, be recognized for degree credit.
