Housing

If you are interested in residing at Dowling College Residence Halls you must reserve your space by completing a Request for Housing form as soon as possible and sending it, along with a $200 housing and food service deposit, to the following address:

Director, International Student and Scholar Services
Dowling College
150 Idle Hour Blvd.

Oakdale, NY 11769
NOTE — THIS DEPOSIT CANNOT BE REFUNDED UNLESS YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A VISA!!

You should not assume that a room is reserved for you unless you have received confirmation of the reservation. Your application cannot be processed without the $200 deposit. Do not delay, space is limited.

You should plan to arrive about 3-5 days before the start date of the semester. If you arrive earlier you can stay at a nearby motel.
Each apartment is furnished and has a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and common area, but all necessary supplies such as dishes, cooking and eating utensils, blankets, pillows, bed linen, towels and other items must be provided by the student.

There is a mandatory meal plan which will be provided for you if you choose to live in a dormitory.  You may also purchase an expanded meal plan if the minimum food plan is not sufficient. If you would like to stay at the dorms for a few days only, or if you have any questions about accommodations, please contact Residence Life at 631-244-3017.

 Off Campus Housing

There are some apartments in the areas surrounding Dowlings campuses, which range from $2,400 to $3,300 per semester (approximately $800 – $1,100 per month), depending on the size, quality and number of bedrooms. Be prepared to leave the first and last months rent along with a security deposit. Students are responsible for locating their own off-campus apartment.
