Economics: Research / Projects
Research / Projects
Professor Greer has published in peer-reviewed publications at a steady stream since arriving at Dowling in 1994. His first published research paper after becoming a Dowling professor appeared in The Journal of Economic Issues and addressed how policies designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions could bolster economic growth. Since then, he has published an additional twelve articles in peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of Applied Statistics, The International Journal of Forecasting, Advances in Airline Economics, The Journal of Public Transportation, The Electronic Green Journal, Transportation Research, The International Journal of Transport Economics, The European Journal of the History of Economic Thought, and Research in the History of Economic Thought and Methodology. The topics on which Professor Greer has published run the gamut from the history of economic doctrine, to environmental economics, to airline economics, to the economics of public transportation, to economic forecasting. Although his research endeavors are subsidiary to his teaching and mentoring of students, Professor Greer feels fortunate that he has been able to make modest contributions to the fields that he has published in.
