Certificate in Financial Planning
Dowling College is registered with Certified Financial Planner
Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) to provide a new financial
planning certificate program. An independent certifying organization,
CFP Board owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL
PLANNERTM and federally registered CFP (with flame logo)®, which
it awards to individuals who meet its education, examination,
experience and ethics requirements. Students completing the
financial planning program at Dowling College will be eligible to sit
for the national CFP® Certification Examination administered by the
CFP Board.
Dowling College’s Certificate in Financial Planning will help
prepare individuals for career options such as: a personal financial
advisor, a financial analyst, a financial advisor, a credit analyst, a
portfolio manager, a risk analyst, an investment analyst, a financial
specialist, or a tax planning advisor. These courses are designed for
individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the financial
planning profession or who are interested in becoming a Certified
Financial Planner (CFP). Financial planners help individuals plan their
financial futures primarily because of their knowledge of investments,
taxes and estate planning issues. These courses are offered both
online and in-house.
This certificate requires completion of six new graduate courses:
