The Mansion
Dining Room

Karl Bitter, the acclaimed Austrian sculptor, designed the architectural elements of the dining room, including the ivory colored, cast plaster harvest friezes surrounding the room. Below the friezes, the walls are hand-rubbed Circassian walnut. The sculpture of Diana, carved in high relief out of one block of marble by Bitter, is the highlight of the room. A massive oak table is in the middle with matching carved chairs. The doorknobs are of Czechoslovakian blown glass.
