Denise A. Fischer
Denise A. Fischer graduated from Dowling College with a Master of Business Administration in Management degree in May 1994. With over 30 years of diversified experience in contract administration, she is currently employed as a Principal Contract Administrator at Telephonics Corporation, where she has worked since November 1996.
At this time, Denise is in the middle of a two-year term as President of The Alumni Association of Dowling College, where she has previously held offices as 2nd Vice President (2002 – 2004), President (2004 – 2008) and Secretary (2008 – 2010), and where she is a Committee Member and an Event Coordinator. She has been a member of the Alumni Council since 1997 and, more specifically, has participated in the following Dowling College activities: Committee Member for Dowling’s Alumni Holiday Ball (1994 – 1998, including four consecutive years as Chairperson/Coordinator); Committee Member for Dowling’s St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance (1996, 2010 – 2011); Alumni Golf Classic (1996 – 1998); Regatta (1995 – 1998 and 2001 – 2010 and Chairperson/Coordinator from 2002 – 2006); Commencement (2000 – 2008, 2010 – 2011); the Alumni Scholarship Fund (2007 to present); and Chairperson of the By-Laws Committee (2003 – 2004).
Denise has also been a Co-chairperson of the Lectors at Our Lady of Grace Church in West Babylon, New York (January 2001 – June 2011). Since 2011, she has been the Secretary and a key member of the Bradstock Music Festival Committee which has raised money for Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck (a camp for children of special needs in Center Moriches, New York), and she is also active with Island Harvest and other local environmental organizations. Denise has served as an Usher (since 1995) and Lector (since 1997) at Our Lady of Grace Church, and she is a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (since April 2009).
