The Anthony Giordano Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of Ruth Hardinger’s work entitled Woven Matter. This mixed-media exhibition combines new site-specific installations of concrete and rope sculpture (2005-2006) along with wool tapestries dated to the mid 1990’s made in collaboration with weavers in Mexico and digital prints from 2002. The complex interweaving of content and materials offers engaging dialogues between the works on view and the rich cultural mixing of historic symbols and technologies.

Annually, the Artist Project series intimately involves the students in VIS 4104A: Contemporary Art. The class is also known as the Living Classroom and as “Real Time Contemporary Art Lab.” It is comprised of an intensive study of contemporary art and traditional art history lectures with on-site learning and an apprenticeship or collaboration with the artist featured in each year’s project.
