Known on Long Island as "The Personal College", Dowling remains true to its reputation, offering smaller class sizes and personal student attention with accommodations that make a graduate studies schedule convenient and balanced.
Classes are held mornings, evenings and weekends at campuses in Oakdale and Brookhaven, and at our Melville Center. Attuned to the busy lives of non-traditional student populations, Dowling offers several flexible program schedules for graduate studies.
Saturdays-only, accelerated 16-month M.B.A. Program:
Graduate with your M.B.A. in just three semesters, with no disruption in your current work schedule.
The program includes:
- An iPad.
- Automatic Registration—once you begin the program, Dowling makes all future enrollment arrangements.
- Corporate Deferred Tuition Program—Dowling will defer your payment until after you are reimbursed by your company.
- A luncheon speaker series.
Online instruction:
Several master’s degree and certificate programs are available through online instruction.
Students who excel in an online program are self-disciplined and highly motivated. Typically, an online course consists of reading, completion of projects and assignments and taking examinations through the Blackboard system.
Dowling College's Online Programs provide you with the following support:
- Admissions Advisor: Reviews your application, evaluates your credentials, and together with the admissions team makes a decision regarding acceptance.
- Program Manager: Registers you and serves as your academic advisor to plan a specialized program of study. Program Manager also monitors your progress throughout your program.
- Instructor: Provides instruction and guidance in the individual course.

On-site Educational Program:
Some major employers on Long Island allow students to enroll in a program and learn from their employment locations.
The Dowling Institute has teamed with leading corporations around the globe to develop and implement educational and training programs that are conducted at the work site or at Dowling’s Rudolph-Oakdale and Brookhaven campuses. Each program is customized to meet the company's specific needs and fit the employees' work schedule. Subject matter may involve technical, managerial and computer skills, or customer service training. The Dowling Institute also works with companies to provide credit programs, in which employees can conveniently earn their bachelor's or master's degree in business, either on-site or at Dowling's campuses.
