GEAR UP is a federally-funded project whose aim is to assist students to graduate from Wyandanch High School better prepared academically, socially, and financially to attend college.

The GEAR UP project in Wyandanch is a partnership between Dowling College, SNAP Long Island, Inc., the Mentoring Partnership of Long Island, and the Wyandanch School District.

The GEAR UP funding from the U.S. Department of Education will allow the partners to provide support and services to a group of students, starting with the 7th graders at the Milton Olive Middle School, during the 2005-2006 school year and continuing through their senior year of high school.
